If you haven’t noticed, this Fall season is all about BOLD lip colours! Matte, satin, whatever your preference really – but the general idea being: Intense, Deep, Vampy lips are back! Reminiscent of those 1990’s Nirvana days of grunge, minus the oversized flannel jackets..
Bold Lips Are Back!
Overalls? Thick black eyeliner? Brown Bold Lips? Where are the Flannel Jackets?? Just Kidding!- This season, yet another 90’s trend is making it’s way back into the limelight. But this time around the Bold Lip has a whole new look: by pairing this with minimalistic eyes, im talkin’ one neutral colour on the lid with a crisp liquid eyeliner and just highlighted cheeks (or contoured or blushed but just choose one is the point here).
Things to Avoid when sportin’ the Bold Lip look this Fall: A full face of makeup, smokey eyes with lashes, Hilight contour & Blush, not paired with a bold lip. It will be way too much, and honestly will run the risk of looking like a beauty pageant contestant or even somewhat Drag Queen-esque. After all you want to accentuate your beauty – not pile on as many products as you can.
My advice on where to find your perfect bold lip look, while staying under budget? Personally, I found these Lip Pens and they are true GEMS, for only $9.99 at the Walgreens by my house. L’oreal Paris has relaunched their Colour Riche Lip Pens and have them available in 5 matte shades or 5 satin colour choices. I picked up 5 of them! Their just under $10 and you can’t go wrong with any of these shades!
I honestly LOVE the Matte shades! They are SUPER velvetty soft and ultra creamy formula ensures you wont have dry, cracked lips at the end of the day. The bottom picture shows the pen, its mechanical (twist up) and like I said SUPER creamy texture.
I really Love these, I must have missed them when they first launched but I am happy that L’oreal decided to re-release these (I believe in new colours, not sure though). Unfortunately, I had 2 of these with me at work and left them in the car. Well, it got warm outside…. yeah… they weren’t looking so hot… Then I remembered I had an extra Z-palette that wasn’t being used and melted all 5 down into pans. Super cool, so if you would like to see how I did that, I will be making a tutorial on that here shortly.
Thanks for reading, feel free to share your thoughts, have you ever tried these pens? What’s your favorite go-to Lipstick right now? Or, just say Hi! Whatever is on your mind, leave in the comments section below, Thanks! <3 Michelle
